Question: What is media planning?

Media planning is a planning of the advertising campaigns. Its main task is to choose an optimal program of advertising material placement. As the optimality criteria usually is used one or more parameters of the communicative effectiveness of the ad campaign plan. Media planning is an important tool for forecasting and analysis, without which it is difficult to work in the advertising market nowadays, but tomorrow it will be simply impossible.
 
The implementation of the standard (Western) methods for media planning requires a special knowledge base, i.e. standardized data on the size and structure of media audiences, public attitudes to various forms of advertising.
